POL OPTIC built the PolOnline LensSoapTracer Bridge Chrome extension (“Extension”) to enable secure communication between the PolOnline web application and a locally installed LensSoapTracer desktop service. The Extension is provided for professional use as a local connectivity bridge.
The Extension acts solely as a local communication bridge and does not provide independent functionality outside
of enabling PolOnline to communicate with a user-controlled local service (for example: localhost,
127.0.0.1, or private LAN IP addresses).
The Extension does not collect, store, sell, or share personal user data. Specifically, it does not collect:
* Personally identifiable information (PII)
* Authentication credentials (passwords, tokens, PINs)
* Financial or payment information
* Health information
* Browsing history
* User activity tracking data
* Website content (page text, form inputs, images, etc.)
The Extension may send HTTP requests to a locally installed LensSoapTracer desktop service running on the user’s computer or local network. These requests are initiated by user actions within the PolOnline web application and are used only to exchange tracer-related data with the local service.
The Extension requires host permissions to:
* Communicate with a locally installed LensSoapTracer desktop service
* Relay the service response back to the PolOnline web application
These permissions are used exclusively to fulfill the Extension’s single purpose and are not used to access unrelated websites or remote services.
The Extension does not load or execute remote code. All JavaScript logic is packaged within the Extension and runs locally in the browser.
The Extension does not use third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or telemetry services.
The Extension uses Chrome’s extension security model and follows best practices to restrict access to only the endpoints required for local tracer communication. No data is intentionally persisted beyond the scope of an active request.
The Extension does not inject third-party content. The PolOnline web application may contain links to external sites; such sites are not operated by us. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any external websites you visit.
The Extension is not intended for children and is designed for professional use in optical ordering workflows. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. Updates will be reflected by changing the “Last updated” date above.
